I love the emotional support essential oils can provide. Know someone struggling with anger, motivation, depression, etc.? This is a great PowerPoint presentation that provides some suggestions on four different doTERRA blends, specifically designed to combat typical emotional struggles.

Chakra Balance with dōTERRA Essential Oils
Created by Laura Jacobs and a team of trained dōTERRA practitioners
Preparation:
- Use a massage table, lengthwise end of a bed, a couch, etc.
- Protect the surface from any oil residue
- Get the person comfortable
- Use a pendulum – test their chakras
- Note the condition of each chakra
- In order to make comparisons later in the process
- Make associations with chakras and life
Step 1: AromaTouch on the feet – “open” the candidate to the process and participation
Step 2: OnGuard or TerraShield on the crown – to protect and seal up the auric field to give the person a sense of safety and security during this process
Step 3: Elevation on the crown – spiritual connectedness to the Divine/Father/Heaven
Step 4: Serenity on the third eye – intuition, inspiration, perception, self perception; to calm the mind and quiet the “voices in the head”; to create a place for thoughts to be pure – to support discernment and regulation of thought
Step 5: Whisper on the throat – support one’s “voice,” ability to express one’s feelings, speak one’s truth, be discerning, for balance of the will between heart and mind – singlemindedness
Step 6: Breathe on the heart – for the ability to fully “breathe” in and partake of life; to get the heart in the project as it is mission control – if your heart isn’t in it neither is the rest of you . . . ; to balance the heart or support a heart in alignment – this is the center of the chakra system
Step 7: DigestZen on “solar plexus” chakra – the digestive area of the body, supporting our ability to “digest” life and all its experiences; to support transformation of one thing to another – an idea to a reality, food to energy, to manifest dreams in one’s life, etc. Also relates to personal power – our ability to be a master over self, self discipline, and how we regard ourselves – self image
Step 8: Citrus Bliss on the “navel” chakra – the power chakra, from which we wield the weapons of personal power: money, position in society/one on one relationships, sexuality, etc. It is even the place on the body we wear our weapons.
Step 9: Balance on the feet – for connection to our roots (family/tribe/family tree, community), also relates to how “rooted” or grounded we are in life – stability; shallow roots – easily uprooted; deep roots – solid basis/foundation
Step 10: Purify on any chakra that still doesn’t balance – to cleanse any chakras that needs it
Free dōTERRA Oils
How can I get dōTERRA oils free every month?
Many people become doTERRA Independent Product Consultants (IPC) so they can cover the cost of their doTERRA products. Empower others to take control of their health by sharing dōTERRA. With just a few sales a month, you will receive monthly and weekly commission checks that provide you with ample funds to cover your own dōTERRA purchases.
You can become a dōTERRA Independent Product Consultant by:
- Opening an IPC account for $35.00. IPC accounts remain active with one, yearly $50 order. Renewing each year for $25 not only continues to give you wholesale pricing, you will also receive a FREE bottle of Peppermint.
- Purchasing an IPC Enrollment kit through our online store.
Do I have to sell doTERRA if I sign up to be an IPC?
Absolutely not. The IPC program offers you wholesale pricing on doTERRA products (much like Sam’s or Costco). Another perk is the ability to purchase one of the enrollment kits at a reduced rate; these kits are not sold at retail cost. Many people purchase an enrollment kit with no intention of selling doTERRA. After they use the products, they realize the health benefits and naturally begin to share doTERRA with others. Selling then becomes more of a service than a sales pitch.
What are the benefits of being an IPC?
There are numerous benefits of being a doTERRA Independent Product Consultant including the following:

A Boy’s Story About dōTERRA’s Breathe from the dōTERRA Blog
David, like other 7 year old boys, loves to play outdoors and be active. But until two months ago, his activity was greatly restricted due to his asthma. Medications were a constant part of his routine, until his mom was introduced to dōTERRA essential oils. Here is David’s story, as told by his mother Bekah:
“We have only been using the oils for a little over 2 months, but they have had a significant impact on our family. Betsy Holmes introduced me to dōTERRA’s essential oils at the end of February–she was here visiting and David was in the middle of an allergic asthma attack. Instead of giving him his scheduled albuterol treatment, we opted to try the Breathe oil. Within minutes he stopped coughing and has whole-heartedly requested the oils instead of his treatments ever since then.
He actually went 2 entire months without an inhaler or steroids. Recently his school nurse administered his inhaler without calling me first and it actually brought on more symptoms instead of relieving them. So, David is hooked on the power of essential oils. We diffuse Breathe at night and apply it to his chest as needed. He is loving it! People around here know my David and how he’s struggled. His story is touching hearts and changing lives with dōTERRA – and he’s super stoked to be a part of it!
David, who is in second grade, was asked to do a social studies project on what he wants to be when he grows up. The project actually required that he answer some questions about his aspirations, and draw a picture of himself, which I totally wish I would have taken a picture of also! This letter was a follow-up to that project. He brought it to me last night.
Thank you, Bekah and David, for sharing your story with us!

Homemade Laundry Detergent
Step #2: Add 1/2 cup of borax to the 5 gallon bucket.
Step #3: Add 1 cup washing soda into the bucket.
Step #4: Now this step is interesting…I read many recipes that were very similar with slight differences on this step. I didn’t find the golden key yet…so I look forward to hearing from you and learning from your wisdom. I read that you should grate the Fels Naptha into a bowl and then add a bit of water in a sauce pan, heat until smooth. I also read that you can microwave the bar which will hurry the process. I think I choose poorly. I microwaved the bar and found the odour to be offensive. It was overpowering and my daughter and I ended up putting on medical masks to keep from coughing. The next time I make this recipe I am going to grade it and then put it on the stove and skip the microwave completely.
Formaldehyde, a colorless, pungent-smelling gas, can cause watery eyes, burning sensations in the eyes and throat, nausea, and difficulty in breathing in some humans exposed at elevated levels (above 0.1 parts per million). High concentrations may trigger attacks in people with asthma. There is evidence that some people can develop a sensitivity to formaldehyde. It has also been shown to cause cancer in animals and may cause cancer in humans. Health effects include eye, nose, and throat irritation; wheezing and coughing; fatigue; skin rash; severe allergic reactions. May cause cancer. May also cause other effects listed under “organic gases.” (Read More & Read More)
OK…so I was outraged by the information that I was finding, as I am sure that you will be too. I continued my research and found that the fragrances and phthalates show adverse effects on reproductive health.
Phthalates, called “plasticizers,” are a group of industrial chemicals used to make plastics like polyvinyl chloride (PVC) more flexible or resilient and also as solvents. Phthalates are nearly ubiquitous in modern society, found in, among other things, toys, food packaging, hoses, raincoats, shower curtains, vinyl flooring, wall coverings, lubricants, adhesives, detergents, nail polish, hair spray and shampoo.
Phthalates have been found to disrupt the endocrine system. Several phthalate compounds have caused reduced sperm counts, testicular atrophy and structural abnormalities in the reproductive systems of male test animals, and some studies also link phthalates to liver cancer, according to the U.S. Center for Disease Control’s 2005 National Report on Human Exposure to Environmental Chemicals. Though the CDC contends the health hazards of phthalates to humans have not been definitively established, for some years, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has regulated phthalates as water and air pollutants. So we are investigating the harm of these products on US, but have we even given a moments thought to the wildlife in our ecosystem. These chemicals are placed in our detergents and then washed down through the water system. They make their way into our food chain and then again back into our bodies.
In Green Living, the editors of E/The Environmental Magazine note that chlorine bleach, as it flows down the drain, can produce organochlorines (OC), which create problems for your reproductive and neurological system while increasing your risk of developing cancer. Vinegar and baking soda provide the same benefits of chlorine bleach without harming your health and the environment.
What’s used to actually clean our clothes is yet another petrochemical: nonylphenol ethoxylate (NPE). Extensive research and reports from the Sierra Club show us, yet again, that the bottom line is more important than our health. While Canada and the European Union have banned NPEs, the United States continues their use. According to the Sierra Club, the possible reason behind the continued use is that the Alkyphenol Ethoxylates Research Council (APERC) represents the manufacturers of this harmful petrochemical.
The Journal of Pesticide Reform shows strong evidence that these chemicals cause severe damage to heart and muscle function.
I hope that you have gained a bit of information on what you bring into your homes. I am working to combat these harmful chemicals in my home and hope that I inspire a few of you to do the same. This is something that is a personal choice and by no means am I harsh with those who choose a different lifestyle…consider it the difference between my friends that shop organic (directly from the farm, and those who choose to shop at Walmart of some similar discount chain. We do what we can in the present moment. I believe that if money was not an issue, more people would prefer to buy directly from the farmer and keep pesticides off their food…but that is another rant.
